WRITING CONTEST

The Lake Elsinore Gem and Mineral Society holds an annual writing contest.  Anyone under the age of 18 is eligible. You do not have to be a member of LEGMS or even a rockhound to enter. Entries must be post marked by the last mail day in March.

Forms are now available for the 2004 Contest.

Awards are given for the top three entries in each of two age categories.  The winners receive a $50 US Savings Bond and a custom trophy made from a mineral specimen.  All entrants are invited to the Awards Picnic in June.  Also, the top 8 to 10 articles (depending on the collective length of the articles) are entered into another contest sponsored by the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies.  Winners in this contest are sent to a national competition.
